Innovation is one of the characteristics that defines The Jewett Orthopedic clinic and its physicians. Dr. McFadden has embraced this quality his entire career and it is demonstrated in his practice. Dr. McFadden is an advocate for joint preservation and utilizes many different surgical options to help treat shoulder and knee problems while always trying to maintain normal anatomy.

Cartilage preservation and restoration is one of Dr. McFaddens passions. He has pursued utilizing cartilage restoration for the past decade, all in an effort to prolong the life of a patients knee. Currently Dr. McFadden is involved in the NeoCart clinical trial which is considered the next generation for cartilage restoration. In patients that have isolated disease of one area in the knee Dr. McFadden is a proponent of partial knee replacement. In patients with diffuse disease and require total knee replacement then customized total knee arthroplasty is offered.

Another unique aspect to Dr. McFaddens practice is clinical research. He has participated in numerous clinical trials which in general are geared towards finding new ways to treat arthritis.

When not pursuing his busy Sports medicine and reconstructive practice, Dr. Mcfadden is an avid triathlete. He has completed 15 half ironman events and has competed in many Olympic distance events. Dr. McFadden has qualified for and raced at the age group nationals in the Olympic distance. This year Dr. McFadden was the winner of his age group for the track shack running series.

Dr. Mcfadden is also affiliated with numerous teams through the city. He is one of the team physicians for the Orlando Magic, Orthopedic team consultant for the Houston Astros, Team physician for Bishopmoore high school and was the previous team physician for the Orlando Predators.

Dr. McFadden also is on the teaching staff for UCF medical school, and the Florida Hospital family practice residency. Dr. McFadden has previously been the chief of surgery for Florida hospital east and is the in coming Chief of Orthopedics for Florida Hospital.
