Jewett Shoulder Care

With a full 180-degree range of motion on three different planes, the shoulder is an extraordinary joint. However, the more a joint can do, the more that can go wrong – and the more specialized the treatment.

Shoulders are the most flexible joints in your body. Unfortunately, that same flexibility is what makes your shoulders more susceptible to injury than other joints. Jewett’s Shoulder Team of Orthopaedic experts have extensive experience performing minimally invasive joint replacement procedures, arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery and other therapeutic treatments and procedures designed to restore your shoulder’s health and stability so that you can return to an active life free from pain.

Orlando Orthopaedics

Common treatable shoulder conditions include:

  • Bursitis – Linked to repetitive motions associated with swimming and weightlifting
  • Rotator Cuff Tears – Associated with chronic inflammation and repetitive motion injuries
  • Dislocations – These can occur repeatedly and may require instability surgery to correct
  • Fractures – The collarbone, humerous, or proximal humerous fracture are frequently repaired non-surgically as is acromiocalvicular separation. Surgical repair may be needed for severe fractures or joint separation
  • Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis – Degenerative conditions that can inflame and damage shoulder joint and tissues

Understanding Shoulder Pain

Some shoulder injuries can stabilize with nonsurgical treatments when they are diagnosed and treated properly. If you are experiencing chronic pain and limited range of motion, contact us for a shoulder consultation.
