Now, patients can walk-in until 8:00 p.m. on weekdays and Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic has Saturday hours from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00pm in Winter Park.

“It’s all about access,” said Dr. Michael Jablonski, President of Jewett Orthopaedic & Team Physician for University of Central Florida Athletics. “It’s about getting kids at all levels and at all ages and at all sports. It can be active people too, but it allows them that when they get hurt to get seen immediately.

“We’re trying to take the level of care and go above and beyond for top orthopaedic care. The biggest problem that people have now is that doctors are often are very regimented. It’s nine to five with no weekends and you have to go by the rules. Before you know it, you blink, weeks have gone by and you’re just trying to figure out what’s wrong with you.”

Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic recently opened up a new walk-in facility in Windermere that handles imaging, instant access to physicians and on-site durable medical equipment like slings and braces.

The physicians employed at the new facility are specialists in sports medicine and emphasize immediate imaging and diagnosis to help treat the injuries to their fullest without risk of further injury.

“You can schedule online or soon call an book an appointment 24/7,” Jablonski said. “Our new hours help if you have an orthopedic problem, like if you have a 6:30 game on a Thursday night and now you don’t have to go to an emergency room. You walk into our orthopedic center to get seen, X-rayed, and in some cases, MRI’d and get everything taken care of. It’s very unique. The need is there. People have a harder time getting in. We take care of athletic injuries and we wanted to streamline it and make it easier.”

The new access helps cut out middlemen for the diagnosis of orthopedic injuries with an orthopaedic specialist.  This can be done without going to an emergency room, getting referred to your primary care doctor, getting seen and referred to an orthopedic specialist.

Athletes & patients can go straight to orthopedic care during these new hours and get seen and begin the recovery process. Jewett Orthopaedic will continue to monitor demand and leave the door open for even expanded availability in the future.

“You always make room for need,” Jablonski said. “We built a new office in Windermere in the West Orange area. All due to need and excited to provide immediate orthopaedic care throughout Orlando.”
